David Seaman has told his Seaman Says podcast that he cannot believe that Jurgen Klopp was complaining about Brentford after Liverpool’s defeat on Monday, suggesting that it was a bit weird from the Reds boss.
Liverpool became the latest Premier League heavyweight to suffer a big defeat against the Bees. Thomas Frank’s men were absolutely outstanding at the Gtech Community Stadium, putting the ball into the back of the net five times throughout the 90 minutes.

Two of the goals were disallowed. But Brentford were absolutely relentless, particularly in the first-half. And the Reds were absolutely calamitous at the back, with the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate struggling to cope with the Brentford attack.
Seaman baffled by Klopp comments after Liverpool loss

Regardless of how accurate Klopp’s claim was, it is certainly fair to say that it was not a good look from the Liverpool boss. He came across as a very sore loser. His team had simply been completely outplayed and outfought.
Seaman has suggested that Klopp being surprised by Brentford’s physicality makes little sense. He also claimed that the Liverpool boss should not have made those sorts of comments after the game.
“I can’t believe that he’s moaning about Brentford manhandling his players and stuff like that. If he didn’t know that was going to happen, then he needs to watch a bit more football. You know exactly what’s going to happen when you go to Brentford,” he told Seaman Says.
“I just find it a bit weird when managers moan like that after the game. Try and do it a little bit before so you bring it to the referee’s attention.”
Klopp will be under no illusions that his team were not good enough. Brentford were not just dominant from set-pieces, they were on top for large parts of the contest.
They did ride their luck at times. But you are always going to if you are going to get a result against one of the best sides in the league.
And Klopp’s comments have probably encouraged Liverpool’s upcoming opponents to try and be a little more physical against the Reds.
