David Seaman has admitted that he was baffled by one moment involving Gabriel Magalhaes as Arsenal were knocked out of the FA Cup by Liverpool on Sunday.
The Gunners suffered another early exit in the competition, with two late goals giving the Reds the victory at the Emirates. Mikel Arteta’s side have now lost their last three games in all competitions.
Arsenal are not at crisis point already. They created more than enough chances to put the tie to bed long before the visitors took the lead. However, all of their forwards appear to be out of form right now.
David Seaman baffled after Gabriel Magalhaes missed chance in Arsenal defeat
But they were not the only ones to fluff their lines in front of goal. Gabriel Magalhaes appeared to have a brilliant chance to head home the opening goal during the second-half. However, at the crucial moment, the ball went past Gabriel before Bukayo Saka scooped his attempt over the bar.

And speaking on Seaman Says, David Seaman conceded that he could not quite believe that Gabriel did not do better with the chance.
“You look at the chance that Gabriel left, it almost looked like he left it for Saka. The header. And then Saka chipped it over or something. That looked so strange,” he said.
“The camera angles that we saw, it just looked like Gabriel could’ve just nodded it in. But unless he got a shout or something. But you don’t leave them sort of chances for someone else when it’s right there on a plate for you.”
Gunners should have put game to bed long before centre-back’s error
In previous months, that mistake from Gabriel would not have mattered because Saka would have found the back of the net. In fact, Arsenal would have probably been comfortably ahead by that stage of the tie.
But Arsenal have been nowhere near as impressive in the final third this season. The likes of Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Martinelli look set to go nowhere near the goals tallies they had last season.
Meanwhile, Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka are both looking well short of their best. And Kai Havertz continues to have his doubters.
That is putting pressure on the defenders when they get into those dangerous positions. But it is not really the job of Gabriel to keep scoring the goals against Liverpool.
