Ivan Toney seems to be the talk of the footballing town right now.

The striker is about to return from his ban, and he’s also been at the centre of a number of transfer stories as of late.

Toney has most strongly been linked with a move to Arsenal, but according to David Ornstein, speaking on The Athletic Football Podcast, the Gunners aren’t the only team that like the look of Toney.

Indeed, according to Ornstein, there are plenty of teams in the Premier League who like Toney.

In fact, Ornstein says that pretty much every team in the league would be interested in signing him if he was available for the right price.

Almost every team would take Toney

Ornstein shared his verdict on the £60m man.

“Ivan Toney has no shortage of admirers. I imagine pretty much every team in the Premier League like his qualities and would be interested in signing him if he was available and the money was right, but that last point is the big problem because money is so tight. Look at the teams who have been linked to him, Arsenal, right now, with their profit and sustainability position, I don’t think it’s something they’d be able to do,” Ornstein said.

Still might not move

While almost every team in the Premier League would probably take Toney, he’s still not likely to move this month.

Almost every team in the Premier League is looking over their shoulders in terms of FFP compliance, while Toney himself has stated that he feels a sense of loyalty to Brentford.

Toney may well be the most wanted footballer in England, but a lot of these teams who are looking at him may not actually be able to convince him to sign.

Toney is a player worth keeping an eye on, but he’s not likely to leave at this point.
