‘They aren’t giving up’: David Ornstein has just given Arsenal fans a brand new Douglas Luiz update

The Athletic’s David Ornstein has reported that Arsenal are not giving up on their pursuit of Aston Villa midfielder, Douglas Luiz.

Taking to Twitter just now, Ornstein has tweeted out how Arsenal are going back with a second bid for the Brazilian midfielder, who is believed to be keen on moving to The Emirates.

Fabrizio Romano had claimed earlier on today that Arsenal were indeed trying to sign Luiz and that the midfielder was indeed keen on signing for the Gunners. Personal terms are not thought to be a problem, either.

Luiz is expected to depart before the deadline after going into the final 12 months of his contract and essentially forcing Villa’s hand. The Villans are thought to want around £20m if they are to agree to sell Luiz.

Arsenal have had a superb window so far but have been keen to keep going until the end. A central midfielder and a right winger have been touted as being key positions for the club to add to. By signing Luiz, the Gunners will be getting an experienced PL midfielder through the door.

Luiz played for Villa last night but manager Steven Gerrard admitted after the game that the Brazilian could indeed be on his way out.
