David Moyes has admitted that if he had one criticism of Tomas Soucek, he would suggest that he would like the West Ham United midfielder to get into the box more often – in comments reported by Football London.
Soucek came to West Ham’s rescue on Sunday. His late header earned the Irons a point from their clash with Brighton at the London Stadium.

It was a tough afternoon for Moyes’s men. They were lacklustre for large parts of the game. And they ultimately came from behind on two occasions with Ben Johnson scoring the first equaliser.
It may not have been Soucek’s best performance for the Irons. But he still managed to notch his fourth league goal of the campaign to leave him tied at the top of the club’s scoring charts.

Moyes was asked about whether Soucek had become his new Marouane Fellaini following the game. And while he was full of praise for the Czech Republic international, he suggested one way that he could become even more influential.
“You’d certainly pick Tomas Soucek in the big games because his ability to score from midfield,” he said, as reported by Football London. “If I had a criticism it would be that I need to find a way to get him in the box more.
“Even tonight he had another chance to make it 3-2 at the back post. On a night where I don’t think we or Tomas played so well, he still came up with a goal.”
TBR View: Soucek proving an inspired signing
There is no question that Soucek has been an outstanding signing. He has seven Premier League goals since initially arriving on loan in January.
The early signs suggest that spending £19.1 million in the summer was a masterstroke – even if Moyes feels that he can improve further.
