West Ham United boss David Moyes has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are not a bigger club than his side.

The two teams faced each other in a London derby last night, and they couldn’t be separated. A Thilo Kehrer own goal gave Spurs the lead before Tomas Soucek levelled the scores to secure a point for the home side. Moyes then made a controversial claim in his press conference.

David Moyes says Tottenham are not a bigger club than West Ham

Tottenham have had a phenomenal transfer window so far, and many expected them to hit the ground running and blow teams away. Spurs are unbeaten, but their performances have been questionable.

They were lucky to pick up a point against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, while West Ham could’ve easily scored a couple of goals in the dying moments of the game last night.

Moyes, who has taken the Hammers to a whole new level since his return to the club, was asked by a journalist if he was happy that his side are now picking up points against ‘bigger’ clubs like Tottenham.

The Irons boss was visibly annoyed. He boldly claimed that he does not believe Spurs are any bigger than West Ham.

He said last night, as per Football London: “I disagree with your thing, ‘a bigger team’. We are as big as Tottenham.”

This will definitely annoy a few Tottenham fans.

Spurs supporters definitely believe that they are a bigger club than West Ham. The North Londoners are in the Champions League and have lost just three times to the Hammers in 12 games since the start of 2018.

West Ham fans, however, will argue that they are a club on the up. The Irons have been fantastic over the last two years, and they are now showing real ambition in the transfer market as well now, having signed big names like Gianluca Scamacca and Lucas Paqueta this summer.

Moyes’ big claim will definitely spark a debate among the two sets of fans. We would love to hear Conte respond to this before the two sides meet again.
