David Moyes says he's noticed something has 'changed dramatically' at Arsenal recently

West Ham United manager David Moyes has been very impressed with Arsenal this season.

The Hammers gaffer was speaking to TalkSPORT ahead of the Premier League restarting.

The two clubs face each other on Boxing Day, having had very different starts to the season.

West Ham are currently sitting just above the relegation zone after significant summer investment.

The likes of Gianluca Scamacca and Lucas Paqueta will need to hit the ground running after the break.

In stark contrast, Arsenal have been brilliant this season.

Sitting pretty at the top of the league, they’ve already opened up a five-point gap over Manchester City.

Mikel Arteta has overseen a revolution in the Arsenal squad in his time at the club.

The focus on signing young talent with the potential to improve further has benefitted them greatly.

The Gunners have dropped just four points all season, and have stars emerging in a number of key positions.

Moyes impressed with Arsenal this season

Speaking to TalkSPORT, Moyes was incredibly complimentary about the north London side.

“It’s a great game to start because Arsenal are playing so well,” Moyes said.

“They’ve changed dramatically, and they’re playing some really good stuff, so it’s a tough game for us.

“But why not? You’ve got to play everybody and we’ve had some good games over the last few seasons against Arsenal, so I’m looking forward to another one.”

There might not be a better time for West Ham to play Arsenal this season.

Arteta’s side have played three friendlies during the World Cup break, but nothing is a substitute for competitive action.

The Gunners will also still be adapting to life without Gabriel Jesus, and Eddie Nketiah has to hit ground running up-front.

He’s been doing extra sessions in training to prepare for life as first-choice forward.

Moyes may have been impressed with Arsenal this season, but would have loved what he saw from one of his players in Qatar even more.

For West Ham, they will be disappointed that new signing Nayef Aguerd appeared to pick up another injury with Morocco.

Aguerd was brilliant at the World Cup, impressing his teammates, but limped off against Spain.

He didn’t feature in Morocco’s final three games, but Moyes will be hoping he’s fit to face Nketiah on Boxing Day.
