West Ham manager David Moyes has expressed his delight at the club signing Craig Dawson, who joined from Watford on Monday on a season-long loan.
With the EFL transfer window still open, the Hammers have managed to make another addition to the squad and have signed the 30-year-old from Championship outfit Watford on a temporary basis.
He’s suffered Premier League relegations in the past with Watford last year and previously West Brom, but he’s now back in the top-flight.
Dawson is a versatile defender that can be used as a right-back, but has spent most of his career as a centre-half and he’s a dominant presence in the air in both penalty boxes.
Moyes has given a glowing verdict on the new West Ham signing and expects him to do well at the London Stadium.
“I’m delighted to welcome Craig to the Club. He is a fantastic professional with proven quality and experience in the Premier League,” Moyes said, as quoted by the club’s official website.
“I know he will be a great addition to the dressing-room – he is a committed and determined character. We wish Craig all the best during his time here and I look forward to working with him for the rest of the season.”

TBR’s View:
It seems unlikely that Dawson is going to be able to force his way into the West Ham XI right now, especially with the way that the team were playing before the international break with back-to-back wins over Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester City.
But he’s an experienced defender who provides much-needed cover at the back and they are going to need options if Moyes wants to continue with a three-man defence.
There has been a lot of unhappiness around the fanbase due to a quiet transfer window so far, but results on the pitch will help the mood and they have a squad that should be looking up the table not battling relegation.
