David Moyes has praised West Ham midfielder Declan Rice after his performance in the win over Bournemouth.
The 20-year-old played in the Hammers 4-0 victory against Bournemouth at the London Stadium.
Mark Noble (two), Sebastien Haller and Felipe Anderson all got on the scoresheet as Moyes enjoyed a winning start during his second stint as manger.
It was a much stronger performance by a West Ham side that sit 16th in the league table and are two points above the relegation places.
Moyes did pick out England international Rice for his display on Wednesday and believes he had a great display.
“A few people had said to me he’s not been playing well recently, I thought Declan was excellent [against Bournemouth],” Moyes said, as quoted by Football.London.
Rice is certainly going to be one of the key players for Moyes moving forward, as he looks to help West Ham move away from relegation trouble and try climb the table.
The youngster is already an ever-present in the team alongside captain Noble and he showed his class against Bournemouth.
He produced a stunning assist for Anderson’s goal with a sweeping long-range pass with his left foot and has improved that side of his game, while defensively he was resilient too in front of the back four.
There is a lot of pressure on his young shoulders already in the West Ham side and people should not forget his age.
