Everton are reportedly set to make a concrete offer to Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey in the New Year.
The Sun reports that the Toffees are willing to pay the Welshman £150k-a-week to lure him to Goodison Park. Ramsey’s current deal at The Emirates expires in the summer and Arsenal have recently pulled their final offer off the table, with the 27-year-old now set to leave. The report adds that Ramsey can expect to receive a £15 million signing on fee.
It would certainly be an eye-catching signing from the Toffees. Ramsey would bring a guile to the Everton midfield they sometimes lack and would be a genuine coup, considering some of the clubs linked with his signature in the past.

Of course, this is not the first time Everton have tried to sign Ramsey.
Ramsey became Cardiff’s youngest ever player in 2007 and Premier League suitors were soon circling.
In June 2008, Everton had a £5 million bid accepted by the Bluebirds to discuss a transfer with Ramsey. As reported by the Telegraph, Everton took the unusual step of announcing the agreement of a fee on their official website.
“I was very close to signing Aaron at Everton. He was in my house but Arsenal beat me to it.”
Years later, then Everton boss David Moyes would reveal that the 17-year-old was even in his house for negotiations.
Arsenal and Manchester United also had bids accepted but Ramsey plumped for the Gunners and has since gone on to become a mainstay midfielder in the Premier League.
Over a decade later, Everton might finally get their man.
