David Healy believes Jordan Jones can shine at Rangers

Former Rangers striker David Healy believes winger Jordan Jones will shine for the club, and that he’s ‘as good as any’ wide player in Scotland on his day.

Jones is currently gearing up for the new season with his new club after sealing a move earlier this year.

He signed a pre-contract and remained at Kilmarnock until the end of the season, and the ace had it tough from his own fans.

Former Northern Ireland star Healy said of his compatriot (Scottish Sun): “Jordan came into the Northern Ireland set-up after I’d stepped away, but his performances for us have proved why Rangers signed him.

“Jordan in full flow is as good as any wide player in Scotland, and with his confidence fully restored he’s a real danger.”

TBR’s view

Jones will have his work cut out establishing himself as a regular in the Rangers team.

Steven Gerrard currently has many options in the wide areas including Sheyi Ojo, Daniel Candeias, Jake Hastie, Jamie Murphy and Greg Stewart – with Liverpool’s Ryan Kent still a target.

It will take a big effort for Jones to become indispensible, but he has the talent to do so if he works hard.

He has impressed so far against St. Joseph’s and Marseille, and there is already a sense that the Light Blues have done some very good business over the former Middlesbrough youngster.
