David Gold informs West Ham fans what they can expect from Pablo Fornals

Co-owner David Gold has told West Ham United fans what they can expect from new signing Pablo Fornals, after the Hammers confirmed the capture of the Spain international from La Liga side Villarreal.

The Telegraph claim West Ham have splashed out a whopping £25million to bring the 23-year-old midfielder to the London Stadium this summer, which sees Manuel Pellegrini finally add some cover in the middle of the park.

Fornals shone for Villarreal last season, clocking up an enormous 50 league and cup appearances for the La Liga side. he scored five goals and laid on six assists – even scoring three times in the Europa League.

Gold took to Twitter to welcome the former Malaga midfielder to east London, and informed Hammers fans of what they can expect from Fornals when he finally pulls on a claret and blue shirt.

TBR’s view

Indeed, the Hammers desperately needed a midfielder this summer. Mark Noble, Declan Rice and Pedro Obiang were Pellegrini’s only options last season, as Carlos Sanchez and Jack Wilshere spent time on the sidelines.

Not only have they brought in another player to choose from, but the Hammers have dramatically improved their overall midfield with the signing of Fornals.

The Spaniard has shown during 2018-19 that he is up there with the best midfielders in La Liga and this is a real coup for the east London club. At £25million, he could prove to be a bargain.
