Manchester United star David de Gea has sent a message of support to Hugo Lloris on Twitter after the Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper sustained a horrific-looking injury at Brighton.
Spurs went 1-0 down inside the first three minutes at the Amex Stadium. But Neal Maupay’s goal was quickly overshadowed when it became clear that the Frenchman was seriously hurt.
A cross into the box caused Lloris problems and he could only drop the ball just in front of the line. Maupay was there to head the ball home. But Lloris stayed down after landing incredibly awkwardly on his arm.
The Spurs captain was stretchered off and was receiving oxygen. It is an extremely worrying situation for Tottenham and Lloris. And the incident prompted de Gea to reach out to his fellow goalkeeper.
Here is the Spaniard’s classy message on social media…

Lloris has come in for criticism lately. But there is no question that it would be a huge blow for Mauricio Pochettino to lose the 32-year-old for a substantial period.
He remains one of the Premier League’s best goalkeepers. And his absence will put a lot of pressure on Paulo Gazzaniga to step up. And Spurs fans will be joined by many others in hoping that the prognosis is nowhere near as serious as it looks it may be.
