Darren Randolph has Instagram praise for West Ham player despite Tuesday defeat
West Ham United suffered a narrow extra-time defeat to Manchester United on Tuesday night in the fifth round of the FA Cup as David Moyes came close to knocking his old side out – and Darren Randolph has praised one Hammers player on Instagram.
The Hammers came into the match in good form, and might have felt they had a good chance of knocking United out – with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side suffering poor recent results to Sheffield United and conceding a last-minute equaliser to Everton.
Lukasz Fabianski was in fine form. The Poland international made a handful of top saves, including a brilliant stop – tipping an effort on the post. West Ham had chances, but nothing glaring as they clearly lacked the presence of Michail Antonio.
Eventually, Manchester United substitute Scott McTominay broke the deadlock. In the 97th minute, Marcus Rashford laid off McTominay who blasted an effort into the back of the net. West ham star Pablo Fornals posted on Instagram after the match.
Two-time Spain international Fornals remains an important part of the Hammers side, clocking up 24 appearances in all competitions this season. The £67,000-a-week midfielder (Spotrac) has had a hand in five goals this season.
Randolph responded to the ex-Villarreal star’s Instagram post, urging him to keep his head held high despite the loss.
