Former Tottenham forward and now pundit, Darren Bent, has urged Harry Kane to consider his future at Tottenham if the trophies continue to elude him.
Kane has started the new season in scintillating form, scoring five goals and assisting a further seven times.
His partnership with Heung-Min Son, plus his new-found ability to drop deep and create in more of a number ten role, has seen Spurs rack up the goals already this season.
But Bent, who was speaking on Talksport today, believes Kane may have to leave in order to get the trophies he believes his ability deserves.
“At the moment he’s the complete package. But I do fear for Spurs a little bit. If they don’t win anything again this season and, as well as Harry Kane’s playing now, what does he do?”, Bent said.
“Someone of that quality needs to be playing in the Champions League. If I was Harry Kane I’d probably give it one more year and see what happens.”
Kane, now 27, has failed to get any trophies under his belt while playing for Tottenham, despite picking up personal accolades along the way and rattling in the goals for the Londoners.
Bent’s words will resonate with Spurs fans, who seem to be batting of the same sort of conversation year on year.

Despite the comeback from West Ham yesterday, there doesn’t seem to much stopping Spurs from finally ending that trophy drought for Kane this season.
With Jose Mourinho in charge, too, they also have a manager who knows exactly how to win at the highest level.
Kane does deserve to win trophies but then it’s also partly on him to drive his team on. But, as Bent says, how would he turn down a move to the likes of Madrid or Barca if it did come along?
