Darren Bent shares what his ‘biggest fear’ is when it comes to Liverpool this season

Darren Bent is scared for the rest of the Premier League because leaders Liverpool are yet to show their best form.

Liverpool are top of the Premier League going into Saturday’s trip to Crystal Palace, with a 100% record from their first five games, to go with two wins from two in the Champions League and Carabao Cup.

However, six of those seven wins have been secured with late goals, and the other win against Everton last week went down to the wire.

So while Arne Slot’s men are looking in an ominous position, it is also true that they have not yet hit their stride as they look to defend their Premier League title.

Darren Bent says Liverpool are showing ‘fearsome’ quality of champions

Speaking on TalkSport, former Premier League striker Darren Bent warned the rest of the league that giving Liverpool a head start while they are not playing perfectly will be costly.

He said: “How much of a head start can you give them? And not only can you give them a head start, they’re not playing well.

“They are going to start playing well. That my biggest fear when it comes to Liverpool. They’ve got a great squad. They’ve got some unbelievable attacking options, but and they haven’t played well yet.

“We haven’t seen them for 90 minutes where you go, okay, they’re that’s the sign of champions. The sign of champions is the fact that they’re not doing that and still winning games.”
