Darren Bent says Tottenham should've signed £30m star this summer, he'd have scored 20 goals
Darren Bent has told TalkSport that Tottenham Hotspur should have gone and signed Danny Ings this summer.
A big miss?
Ings was linked with Tottenham in a number of recent transfer windows, but no move ever materialised.
Instead the striker moved to Aston Villa for £30 million last summer (TalkSPORT), in a switch that was kept well under wraps until it was completed.

And Bent feels that Tottenham should have moved for Ings the minute that Harry Kane’s future came into question.
“I genuinely believe that Spurs missed a trick on Danny Ings. If he wanted to leave, you sell him, get Danny Ings early – you can’t tell me that Ings couldn’t score 15 or 20 goals in this team if he stays fit and that buys you a bit of time after Kane, as you have a proven Premier League goalscorer sitting right there,” he said.
Bright start at Villa
Ings certainly has made a bright start at Villa, scoring twice in his first six games and laying on two assists.
He has proven his finishing ability, although there is a feeling that he could become even more potent once he fully settles into his new surroundings.
Ings will actually be able to show Tottenham exactly what they missed out on next weekend.
Spurs are due to face Villa on Sunday as they look to turn around their faltering Premier League form.
Tottenham have lost their last three league matches and Harry Kane is yet to hit the back of the net in the league, in what has been a concerning start.
