Former Tottenham striker Darren Bent has given his view on Christian Eriksen’s future at the club, speaking to Sky Sports News.
The Dane looks close to calling time on a Spurs career that started back in 2013, when he joined the club for a reported £11.5 million (Sky Sports).
And Bent said: “The fans will let him go with open arms. No Spurs fan will look at Eriksen and give him any stick because he’s been loyal to them and given them great service.”
Eriksen has just one year left on his current contract and it remains to be seen if Tottenham cash in this summer or risk him leaving on a free in 12 months.

Perhaps Bent is right – that Tottenham fans wouldn’t blame Eriksen for moving on to a European super club to bolster his chances of winning trophies, not to mention his bank balance.
But it would still sting to see one of Tottenham’s elite performers leave as they’re trying to make progress and Eriksen himself is coming towards the prime of his career at 27.
As long as Eriksen doesn’t go to a domestic rival, his reputation will likely remain in tact. After all, the Spurs faithful still hold Luka Modric and Gareth Bale in high esteem.
