Darren Bent has been speaking about Leeds United and he believes some of their better players need to bring calm heads to the table.
The Whites are in a perilous position after a number of poor results on the bounce and now have just two games to save their Premier League position. The decision to bring in Jesse Marsch hasn’t quite worked out as hoped, and the American is already facing questions from some in the media.

However, speaking on the Kelly and Wrighty Show, former England striker Bent insisted it’s the senior players who need to step up. And among them is Raphinha, who Bent believes has been Leeds’ best player this season.
“You need calm heads. Even their best player this season, you’d say is Raphinha, but you look at him against Arsenal – he nearly got himself sent off because he is too caught up in the emotions. Somehow someone in that dressing room has to find a way of calming everyone down,” Bent said
Raphinha is among the Leeds players being tipped to leave if they do go down. The likes of Barcelona and West Ham are thought to be interested in the Brazilian, who has been a standout player at Elland Road since his arrival from France.
TBR’s View: Darren Bent Has A Point About Raphinha And Leeds
Bent goes on to talk about more Leeds players in this, including the likes of Kalvin Phillips, and he is spot on his assessment really.
At a time when the chips are down, Leeds need their big players to step up to the plate and Raphinha is certainly one of their big players. The Brazilian hasn’t been anywhere near as good this year as he was last, despite still being the biggest threat in the Leeds XI.
Two games are left, and Raphinha and his Leeds teammates would do well to heed Bent’s advice here.
