Darren Bent has been lauding Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli, insisting he is the one who gets fans off their feet at The Emirates.
Martinelli has been a key figure for the Gunners this season. The Brazilian has been from bit-part player to regular starter and talk of a new contract has been a hot topic this week.
Martinelli has five Premier League goals to his name this season. And speaking on TalkSPORT, self-confessed Gunner and pundit, Darren Bent, believes Martinelli is just getting better and better.
“He’s playing at the top of his powers. He’s getting better and better every season. He had a period where he was struggling with injuries. That seems to be behind him now. But it’s the pace, how direct he is,” Bent said.

“Every time he gets the ball, there’s almost like a ‘huuuu’ (take breath away noise) when he gets running with the ball. I saw him against Liverpool. He’s integral. If Arsenal want to keep going, he’s going to be vital.”
Martinelli will be looking to continue his fine run of form this weekend against Chelsea. A win for the Gunners would send yet another statement to the rest of the league. The Blues, meanwhile, will be without goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
TBR’s View: Martinelli among the main men at Arsenal
There was a time when Martinelli looked like being an exciting young player who might end up struggling to make the grade at first team level.
However, he looks anything but that now. He looks like being one of the main players at The Emirates and Bent’s observation about the Arsenal fans is interesting.
Martinelli has played himself into being an un-droppable right now. And at just 21 years of age, things will only go on and get better for the exciting Brazilian.
