Darren Bent laughs at talkSPORT host's bold Manchester United vs Arsenal prediction
The Gunners have been incredible this season. They’ve won every single game so far and started this weekend on top of the Premier League table.
Manchester United, on the other hand, started the campaign with back-to-back defeats against Brighton and Brentford, but their fortunes seem to have changed. Erik Ten Hag’s side have now won three games on the bounce in the Premier League – including one against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
That sets us up for a really interesting game at Old Trafford tomorrow, and Bent and Goldstein have had their say on what they think will happen.
Darren Bent laughs at talkSPORT host’s Manchester United vs Arsenal prediction
On talkSPORT yesterday, Arsenal fan Bent and Manchester United supporter Goldstein argued over who will win the game at Old Trafford tomorrow. They even decided to raise the stakes by agreeing to a bet.
“The bet is, if my team lose I will wear the Arsenal shirt on Monday and vice versa, if it’s a draw no bet,” the talkSPORT host said.
After Bent agreed, Goldstein asked: “Hand on heart, honestly, what do you think will happen?”
The pundit replied: “I think Arsenal will win. Hand on heart, I think Arsenal will win.”
A shocked Goldstein responded: “What? Based on what? You just about won your last game! I was sure we’d beat Liverpool and I’m sure we’ll beat you, I think we will destroy you.”
He then boldly predicted that Manchester United would beat Arsenal 3-0. Bent immediately started laughing. He then says: “Funny guy! You’ve beat us once in the last five.”
The talkSPORT host then asked Bent to predict what he thinks will happen tomorrow. The Englishman said: “2-1 Arsenal.”
Goldstein and Bent have backed their sides to get the job done tomorrow, but it is a difficult game to call.
Arsenal have definitely been the better side this season. They have been absolutely incredible, with the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Martin Odegaard looking unplayable at times.
However, Mikel Arteta has a number of injuries to deal with. Thomas Partey, Mohamed Elneny and Oleksandr Zinchenko have all been ruled out, while Odegaard and Aaron Ramsdale are being assessed after picking up knocks in the last game against Aston Villa.
That could give Manchester United a big boost going into the game, but after the start they’ve had, Arsenal really should fancy themselves to extend their 100 per cent record tomorrow.
