Darren Bent has labelled Moussa Sissoko brilliant, and told Sky Sports (broadcast on 5/1; 19:17) that the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder is a manager’s dream.
Sissoko has been a key part of Jose Mourinho’s plans this season. He has formed a hugely impressive partnership with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the middle of the park.

The pair have predominantly played together in the Premier League. But after starting on the bench at the weekend, Sissoko was given a chance to return to the lineup for Tuesday’s Carabao Cup semi-final with Brentford.
And ahead of the tie, Bent outlined just how impressed he has been with the 31-year-old by labelling Sissoko brilliant. He also made a suggestion for how he could improve that the midfielder was seemingly listening to.

“For me, he’s a manager’s dream,” he told Sky Sports. “He’ll run, he’ll work hard. I think he’s improved in his quality on the ball. And when he first went to Spurs, he struggled a little bit. I don’t think too many people were quite impressed with him.
“But he’s made that position his own, sitting in front of the back four. He works hard. He protects the back four.
“And if he can potentially add one or two more goals to his game, because he gets in good areas at times, but maybe the last little bit’s not quite there. But other than that, what he does for this team, the engine, the physical attributes, I think he’s been brilliant in the last couple of seasons.”
Sissoko brilliant as Spurs book final spot
Remarkably, Sissoko would end his wait for a goal in the semi-final. He was on the end of Sergio Reguilon’s outrageous cross to head home and break the deadlock during the first-half.
According to Football London, that was Sissoko’s first attempt on goal all season, so perhaps that may prompt him to get forward more often and up that goal tally.
It remains to be seen if that area of his game improves, but there is no doubt that Sissoko – who earns £80,000-a-week, according to Spotrac – has been a revelation in recent years.
