Darren Bent was at the Emirates for Arsenal vs Liverpool on Sunday, and the talkSPORT pundit was really impressed with Darwin Nunez‘s performance.
Liverpool went into the game in North London as the underdogs for the first time since Jurgen Klopp took charge of their club. Arsenal have been unbelievable this season and deservedly picked up the win, but Nunez still managed to impress.

Darren Bent impressed by Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez after watching him play live against Arsenal
Arsenal started the game in fantastic style. They opened the scoring after just 58 seconds through Gabriel Martinelli, and it really was a fantastic move.
The pressure was on Liverpool to respond and they did just that. They completely controlled the game from that point until almost the end of the half, and one player’s movement really caught Bent’s eye – Nunez.
The pundit, who was watching the game live, kept an eye on the big-money Liverpool signing from start to finish. He was really impressed by the Uruguayan’s movement and sharpness – despite the fact that he drifted offside quite a few times.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Bent said: “I thought when Liverpool got the equaliser, the first one, by the way, Darwin Nunez, he is so sharp.
“I know he runs offside a lot, but he is sharp, like his movement!
“When he scored the goal, Liverpool were on top, moving the ball really well. They kept playing this little diagonal ball over Gabriel’s head, and he kept getting in.”

TBR View:
It was a terrible performance on the whole for Liverpool and the defeat was obviously depressing. However, Nunez should be really pleased with his display.
The Uruguayan has had a really difficult start to life in England. He scored on his debut in the Community Shield and also on the opening day of the new Premier League season at Fulham, but things didn’t go his way beyond that point.
That red card against Crystal Palace made things go from bad to worse and Nunez just couldn’t be himself. Thankfully for him, things changed against Arsenal, and he deserves immense credit.
His movement behind the last line was really impressive and the more he does that, the more chances he’ll have to trouble the opposition.
Liverpool take on Manchester City next and we think Nunez will keep his place in the side.
