Tottenham face Arsenal on Sunday in the north London derby.

The two halves of north London will be split heading into this game, but one man who may have mixed emotions this weekend is Darren Bent.

Bent grew up as an Arsenal fan, but he played for Tottenham during his career.

The striker has allegiances to both clubs, and he’ll be torn on who he wants to win this game.

Speaking on an Echo of Glory, the pundit has been previewing this game, and he’s stuck his neck on the line to give a score prediction.

Darren Bent predicts north London derby

Bent gave his verdict on how this game will go.

“I think the first goal will be key. They’re never slow burners these north London derbies. Yes, Arsenal have had a good start with seven points so far, and Spurs have had a mixed start, but good performances. They went to St James’ Park, a tough place, and they should’ve won,” Bent said.

“I think it is going to be close. I really do. I’m going to go 3-2 to Arsenal.”

North London derby will be tight

Bent says that this game will be tight, and he’s not wrong.

Yes, Arsenal have been a lot better than Tottenham over the past two years. However, an injury to Martin Odegaard and the suspension of Declan Rice has changed the complexion of this game.

All of a sudden, you could argue that Tottenham are the favourites to beat Arsenal, albeit narrow favourites.

As an Arsenal supporter, Bent has opted for a Gunners win on Sunday, but it wouldn’t be a shock at all if Tottenham managed to pull of a memorable victory here.

Whether Spurs or Arsenal come reign victorious remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure, this is going to be a seriously entertaining match between two teams that will give it their all.
