Darren Bent believes that Tottenham have now assembled a strong squad, but has suggested they should have signed a centre-back in the summer transfer window.
Jose Mourinho’s side have made some brilliant additions during the window and a recent 6-1 hammering of Manchester United at Old Trafford highlights their improvement.
Gareth Bale (loan), Sergio Reguilon, Matt Doherty, Carlo Vinicius (loan), Joe Hart and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg are all new faces that have arrived at Spurs.
Bent has explained though that there is still an issue in the heart of defence, as Mourinho tries to establish his first-choice centre-back pairing.
Eric Dier, Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez appear to be the senior trio battling it out for two starting positions, but the amount of cup fixtures is going to mean plenty of rotation.
“I think they’ve got a very good squad. I’d still like to maybe have signed a centre-half, I think that position there I don’t think he (Mourinho) quite knows what pairing to play at the minute,” Bent has told Sky Sports.

TBR’s View:
The summer transfer window shut on Monday, but the domestic market remains open a little while longer still and Spurs could snap up a player from the lower leagues if they wish.
According to the Daily Mail, Spurs bid £7million for Swansea City centre-back Joe Rodon, who is valued at £18million by the Championship club.
The 22-year-old is a ball-playing defender that would certainly stiffen up competition in the heart of the defence and he’s shown plenty of signs that he’s ready to step up to the Premier League.
