Darren Bent has given his verdict on the goal that Arsenal central defender Gabriel scored against Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium.

The former Tottenham Hotspur striker was hugely impressed by Gabriel’s goal on Saturday.

So, what has Darren Bent said about Arsenal centre-back Gabriel? Let’s take a look.

Praise for Arsenal centre-back Gabriel vs Crystal Palace

Well, Arsenal took on Crystal Palace in the London derby on Saturday afternoon. Just as expected, the Gunners won the Premier League match at the Emirates Stadium in North London.

Gabriel scored the opening goal after just 11 minutes. The £27 million (Sky Sports) Brazilian defender rose highest and headed Declan Rice’s corner.

The defender was involved in the second goal for Arsenal as well. Gabriel connected well with another corner, and his diving header bounced off the back of Dean Henderson.

Former Tottenham striker and talkSPORT pundit Darren Bent was following the match, and he was hugely impressed by the attitude of Gabriel for his goal.

Bent said on PremierLeague Production: “Arsenal came out the blocks well. The first goal shows Gabriel’s hunger and desire. He sees the ball and wants it more than anyone else and gets his head to it.”

Impressive display from Gabriel

In my view, Arsenal defender Gabriel played well against Crystal Palace. I believe that he was one of the best players on the pitch at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

Gabriel, who has been linked with moves away from Arsenal, was strong at the back, was very good in the air, read the game well, and was a rock.

Arsenal needed to win against Palace, and I think that the Emirates Stadium faithful have to thank Gabriel for the victory in the London derby on Saturday.
