Peterborough United owner Darragh MacAnthony has commented on the future of Ricky-Jade Jones amid reported interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool, ahead of the January transfer window.
Jones, 17, has starred for The Posh after breaking into the League One side this season. Despite only turning 17 in November, the midfielder has clocked up six first-team appearances in all competitions. He has scored on two occasions.
The midfielder found the back of the net in a 2-1 win over Cambridge United in the EFL Trophy, as well as netting in an FA Cup win over Stevenage. He is being heavily linked with English biggest clubs, not least Spurs and Liverpool.
The Daily Mail have claimed Tottenham, Liverpool and even Manchester United want Jones, who is rated at £2million by Peterborough as per the report. MacAnthony discussed his future when asked by a fan on Twitter.
Can be as good as anything we have ever produced & most pace on any striker in the EFL. Very confident this kid will play at the top but plenty of games for us in meantime. No rush. Just turned 17. https://t.co/Dmto0ful2e

TBR’s view – Jones can become Tottenham’s next Dele Alli
For just £2million, a 17-year-old who is already scoring for a third-tier side and becoming a threat for The Posh is a bargain. By the time Tottenham paid £5million for Alli, he had scored 24 goals in 88 games for MK Dons.
Jones needs to break into Peterborough’s starting eleven on a regular basis and continue to show his class. Can he go as far as Alli? It remains to be seen, but Spurs are right to keep their eye on the attacking midfielder.
