Tottenham defender Danny Rose has surely done enough to warrant a recall by Mauricio Pochettino this weekend.
Spurs host Burnley at Wembley and will be hoping to make it a third straight victory in the Premier League.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men have responded well to the disappointing 4-2 defeat to Arsenal in the North London Derby earlier this month.
They will also be feeling particularly pleased having secured qualification from their group in the Champions League in midweek thanks to a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Barcelona in the Nou Camp.
A number of Spurs players had great games in Spain, including Rose at right-back.
The Englishman replaced Ben Davies and really rolled back the years with an energetic display.
Rose to replace Davies indefinitely?
Rose’s Nou Camp display was excellent.
He completed four take-ons and eight final-third passes, and recovered seven balls and made six tackles (Spurs Stat Man) in an impressive showing of both attacking and defensive quality.
Rose has largely had to contend with playing second fiddle to Davies this term.
He’s made 10 appearances for Spurs, six of which have been league starts, while Davies has made 18 (10 Premier League starts).
While the Welshman has done well at times, he hasn’t always been consistent.
It’s a similar story with Rose, but surely Pochettino must want to give him a run now after shining bright against Barcelona.
Tottenham are an attacking team which just about makes Rose the better option on paper.
