Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy has urged his former club to go and sign Aston Villa whizz Jack Grealish this summer.
Now a pundit for the BBC and Talk Sport, Murphy made the comments in his weekly column in the Daily Mail.
Grealish is set to be a wanted man this summer and it is thought that he will probably leave Villa Park, even if Premier League safety is secured.
The 24-year-old has scored nine goals and registered eight assists this season, with The Mirror stating that £60 million should be enough to land the playmaker.
Murphy is is no doubt that Grealish would improve Jurgen Klopp’s midfield.
In the Daily Mail, he said: “If you’re Jurgen Klopp, having his midfield versatility at your disposal is a godsend.
“I’d already put Grealish ahead of Naby Keita or James Milner and the only thing Gini Wijnaldum has over him at the moment is the experience of consistently playing big matches.”
It’s unsure whether Liverpool will show their interest in securing Grealish this summer. He is the sort of player, however, who could thrive under Klopp.
At Villa, he has served the club with distinction and it seems unlikely that they will stand in his way in the summer.
Klopp’s midfield doesn’t score many goals and in the future, that might something which he looks to add.
Grealish can score goals and create them and his energetic style would make him a decent component of a Klopp team.
Murphy is probably right that he is ahead of Keita and Milner and it’s certain that he would offer the Reds the type of player they don’t currently boast in their ranks.
