Danny Murphy reckons Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana would be a perfect acquisition for Leeds United ahead of the 2020/21 season.

There were scenes of jubilation outside Elland Road on Friday night as news of the club’s return was confirmed, and thoughts are already turning to how Bielsa’s squad may take shape ahead of 2020/21.

In the eyes of Murphy, it’ll be about adding the right players without detracting from what he’s already got.

Writing in his Daily Mail column, the Match of the Day pundit said: “Adam Lallana, out of contract at Liverpool, would be perfect. Great energy, good footballer, good attitude.”

Lallana is leaving Anfield on the expiry of his contract after six years at the club, and will be available for free.

He, of course, is no stranger to playing in a side that presses intensely so it could be a fairly smooth transition.

The 32-year-old has gotten through the 2019/20 season unscathed in terms of injury which bodes well, and he would bring vast experience to the dressing room.

One thing Leeds would probably hope for if they did decide to pursue Lallana, is the current £110,000-a-week player (Spotrac) being willing to reduce his wages.
