Danny Murphy has told talkSPORT (broadcast on 4/1; 11:42) that some of the Tottenham Hotspur fans he has spoken to are at the end of their tether with Antonio Conte, and would not mind if he did not sign a new contract this summer.
Conte is coming in for more criticism than perhaps at any other time in his Spurs tenure right now. His side have failed to win either of their two games since the World Cup break. And they now find themselves five points outside of the top four. They are also on the unbelievable run of conceding the opening goal in their last 10 games in all competitions.

For much of his spell, it appeared that keeping Conte was absolutely pivotal to Tottenham. He is someone who has won silverware in almost every job he has taken. So if he could not turn their fortunes around, it was a worrying statement about the surroundings at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Murphy thinks Tottenham fans are turning against Conte
However, the finger of blame is now being turned towards Conte more and more. And Murphy even suggested that he is aware of some Spurs fans who are ready to seem him moved on as he approaches the final months of his current contract.

“Some of the Tottenham fans I’ve spoken to are bemused and at the end of their tether regarding this pragmatism, this style of play that continually puts them on the back foot,” he told talkSPORT.
“Because we can all see it, we can all see the change when they go a goal or two down and they release themselves and have a go. I think some Tottenham fans wouldn’t mind if he didn’t sign a new contract. I might be wrong.”
There does appear to be a feeling that some Tottenham fans are not as convinced about Conte. That is not to excuse the board and the decision-makers behind the scenes. Clearly, the Italian had a huge job on his hands when he came in.
But Conte has not helped himself. Something has not clicked with a squad that includes World Cup winners in the likes of Hugo Lloris and Cristian Romero.
Harry Kane is one of the best goalscorers the Premier League has ever seen. He is on the cusp of becoming Spurs’ all-time leading scorer.
There is quality throughout. And yet, Conte cannot quite make it work.
Clearly, some supporters are now wondering whether he ever will.
