Danny Murphy has now been hailing the efforts of Anthony Gordon for Newcastle United after his side beat Arsenal yesterday.
Murphy was speaking on the BBC’s Match of the Day and thought Gordon’s work rate was quite remarkable.

The pundit was praising Eddie Howe’s approach to ensure that his Newcastle players doubled-up on each Arsenal winger.
Murphy thought that Gordon’s work ethic was absolutely crucial to those efforts, and didn’t think there were any players working harder in Europe.
He said: “Gordon’s worth ethic to get back, and [Miguel] Almiron, as good as you’ll see from any wide player in the Premier League, anywhere, probably in Europe actually.”
And Gordon was once again a shining light for Newcastle on a memorable evening at St. James’ Park.
The winger had just been shifted centrally after Callum Wilson had left the field and took no time to find the back of the net.
And although the goal was scored in controversial circumstances, Alan Shearer didn’t think there was any merit to Mikel Arteta’s rant.
Moreover, Danny Murphy will probably suggest that Gordon’s hard work for Newcastle got what it eventually deserved.
Murphy thinks Gordon was brilliant for Newcastle
Jamal Lascelles is another player who deserves a lot of credit for his display yesterday.
Although Newcastle do miss Sven Botman, their captain is doing an exceptional job stepping back into the side.

Lascelles dealt with Eddie Nketiah quite brilliantly and embodied a determined Newcastle back line.
And that defensive performance bodes very well with a trip to Borussia Dortmund on the horizon on Tuesday.
Newcastle fans may be sweating on the fitness of Dan Burn who did come off with an issue yesterday.
However, if he doesn’t make it then Tino Livarmento looks more than ready to step in.
The 21-year-old was outstanding for Newcastle in the second half yesterday and could have easily been praised alongside Gordon by Murphy.
It was a memorable night for Eddie Howe’s team, who continue to galvanise in the face of so many injuries.
