Danny Murphy has suggested a Premier League club best suited for Marcus Rashford, should the 27-year-old decide to depart Manchester United.
TBR Football reported that Manchester United are yet to decide on Rashford’s future, following rumours linking the attacker with a move away from Old Trafford.
A graduate of the famous Man United academy, a Rashford sale would net the Red Devils some much-needed pure profit, especially with PSR potentially lurking in the background.
With that being said, who could Rashford join if he were to leave his boyhood club?
Danny Murphy names ‘dominant’ Arsenal as best suitors for Marcus Rashford
Speaking on TalkSport earlier this morning, Danny Murphy revealed which Premier League rivals would best suit the Englishman.
Murphy was quick to state that Arsenal would be the perfect destination for Rashford, due to the ‘stability’ and ‘competence’ that Manchester United have otherwise struggled to find.
Murphy said: “Playing in a team that’s so settled, so confident and competent, there is a case that his [Rashford] end product would get much better, because Arsenal are really dominant in games.

“The ability he’s got and the physical attributes he has – he’s capable of more. But he’s been at a club where the managers and managerial team have not been stable, and the team’s not been great,” Murphy added.
Comparisons were drawn between Rashford and other forwards at Manchester United, with Murphy stating that Rashford is still the “best” and “most dangerous.”
“If I looked at all their front players and thought, ‘Who can win me a game? Who can score a goal? Who’s going to hurt people?’ I’d have him ahead of [Alejandro] Garnacho, [Rasmus] Hojlund, and Antony this season.”
How Marcus Rashford compares to Arsenal’s attackers
Marcus Rashford has netted 138 goals in 425 appearances for Manchester United since debuting in 2016 after graduating from the club’s academy. However, following an impressive 30-goal campaign in 2022/23, Rashford’s form and output has since derailed.
Paul Merson believes Rashford needs to be more ‘consistent’ considering the experience the Englishman possesses.
| Attacker | Appearances (2024/25 all comps) | Goals | Assists |
| Marcus Rashford | 23 | 7 | 3 |
| Bukayo Saka | 20 | 7 | 11 |
| Gabriel Martinelli | 20 | 4 | 2 |
| Leandro Trossard | 20 | 4 | 2 |
It remains an interesting story to keep an eye on – in regards to whether Rashford would suit Mikel Arteta’s system more than Amorim’s. There is a solid case to suggest the 27-year-old would thrive as a touchline winger in comparison to being utilised as a narrow forward in Amorim’s 3-4-3 system.
