Danny Murphy has just made a claim about Son Heung-min that will excite Tottenham Hotspur fans following their thumping 4-1 win at Ipswich.

Tottenham Hotspur made it three wins on the bounce with a key victory at Portman Road as they look to salvage their Premier League season.

Brennan Johnson’s brace along with goals from Djed Spence and Dejan Kulusevski sealed the win for Spurs to move them ten points off the top five.

But one key factor of the win was the performance of Son who produced two assists for Johnson and a very impressive first-half display against the Tractor Boys.

Danny Murphy thinks Son Heung-min’s confidence is back

Danny Murphy believes that Son Heung-min looks to have rediscovered his confidence following his dominant display against Ipswich.

The South Korean was a menace down Tottenham’s left-hand side as he kept causing Ben Godfrey big problems before twice setting up Brennan Johnson.

The former Tottenham midfielder also claimed Son looked like he could beat his defender again having seriously struggled for form this campaign.

Murphy told Match of the Day: “Son looks back sharp, he looks like he can beat people again and is confident. Leif Davis doesn’t see where Brennan Johnson is and with the quality Son has, Johnson just uses his pace to get in for an easy tap-in.”

Ange Postecoglou has been tipped to drop Son when Wilson Odobert is back fully fit, however, the Spurs captain proved he is going to put up a strong fight for his place in the team.

Tottenham could get huge Son Heung-min boost

Having Son back to his best would be just such a massive boost for Tottenham in the final part of the season.

The 32-year-old has looked well off the pace for the majority of the campaign, however, having now had a chance to rest somewhat, against Ipswich he looked superb.

Murphy was right about the Tottenham captain looking like he could beat his man again as he did it twice very well to set up Johnson’s two goals.

Ange Postecoglou’s team will still be hoping for European qualification in the Premier League and to also go far in the Europa League – so having Son back to his best could be crucial.
