Danny Murphy has issued his verdict on the news that Radu Dragusin is set to become Tottenham Hotspur’s second signing of the January transfer window.
Radu Dragusin is on the verge of following Timo Werner and moving to North London. It has certainly been an eventful 48 hours, with the Romanian, at one stage, looking set to move elsewhere.
Bayern Munich were apparently confident of snatching Dragusin from Tottenham’s grasp. But in fact, the centre-back is now heading for a medical in North London ahead of completing a deal worth £26 million, according to the Guardian. Djed Spence is set to move in the opposite direction, joining Genoa on loan after seeing his spell at Leeds cut short.
Danny Murphy issues verdict as Radu Dragusin closes in on Tottenham move
Dragusin was still establishing himself in Serie A before the window opened. He had made more appearances in the second tier last season than he had in the top-flight across his entire career.

So there is an element of risk attached to the move. However, speaking on The Take On, Danny Murphy now believes that there is a lot to like about Dragusin’s game as a move to Tottenham edges closer.
“I didn’t know much about him so I did a bit of work on him the other day,” he said.
“He looks good, you know. Nice footballer, lovely passer, quick, exactly what Postecoglou likes because of the high line. He likes getting in front and having a little fight. And he’s really good in the opposition box, he’s good in the air. He could be a really good signing.”
Ange Postecoglou has a proven track record
What will encourage Tottenham fans is Dragusin – should he sign – would not be the first unproven player Ange Postecoglou has taken charge of this season.
The likes of Destiny Udogie and Pape Matar Sarr have been outstanding this season. Meanwhile, Guglielmo Vicario was a player James Maddison had not heard of before the summer.
So if Postecoglou wants Dragusin, that would suggest that he feels that he has an incredibly high ceiling.
It is still potentially a gamble given his age and lack of experience. But there is clearly reason to be extremely hopeful that he will prove to be an outstanding signing.
