Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Danny Murphy believes that Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino will want to ‘freshen up’ the Spurs squad this summer.
Tottenham lost the Champions League final to Liverpool at the weekend and will look to build on reaching the final ahead of next season.

But that is simply not going to happen without some new recruits and Murphy feels as though the Argentine will want to do just that, as he told talkSPORT.
“Getting into the top-four while playing away from your own stadium and getting to the Champions League final, that’s like winning something but without winning something. They have punched well above.
“It’s not all doom and gloom, it’s just there are some contractual issues and they need to freshen it up. I think they will do, I think Pochettino wants to.”
Tottenham certainly need to bring in some new players this summer. Several of the current squad appear to have reached their limit. Victor Wanyama, Eric Dier, Kieran Trippier and Ben Davies are all players who are not ready to go to the next level with Tottenham Hotspur.
The likes of Ryan Sessegnon, Giovanni Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele are all top young players capable of growing into stars at Tottenham and could be the sort of players to shake things up at Tottenham.
As Murphy points out, Tottenham deserve huge credit for their achievements this season. However, it is hard to see how Tottenham can progress without some excellent recruitment this summer. Freshening up might be the best option.
