Danny Mills names five Liverpool midfielders better than Manchester United’s Paul Pogba

Sky Sports pundit Danny Mills has been running the rule over the respective options at Manchester United and Liverpool ahead of the weekend clash between the bitter rivals.

Mills believes that not a single United player gets into the Liverpool side on current form and named five Reds midfielders he’d rather have than Paul Pogba.

He said: “There’s nobody at Man Utd who – in terms of performing on a consistent basis – would make it at the moment. Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Georginio Wijnaldum are playing really well.

“If Paul Pogba is in top form, then yes, of course he can get in, but he hasn’t so far. I’d even go as far as to say James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain would make the cut.”

TBR’s View – Klopp would not swap Henderson for Pogba – and he’s right

In terms of raw talent, Pogba beats Henderson – probably the least gifted member of Jurgen Klopp’s midfield – every day of the week.

But only one of them is making the most of their ability, playing their best football every week and being the leader their managers expect them to be – and it’s Henderson.

Would Klopp swap Henderson for Pogba? Absolutely not, and he’d be right, because the Englishman is well-suited to Liverpool’s style and can be relied upon.

Pogba can’t be trusted to produce his best form. Although Mills declaring Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s slow return from injury as on par with Pogba’s season is perhaps a little harsh.
