Sky Sports pundit Danny Higginhbotham believes that Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen could enjoy much more freedom in the clash against Liverpool on Sunday.
Spurs travel to Anfield on Sunday afternoon after the international break and will be looking to get back in track for a top four finish.
They currently sit third in the table despite some poor results recently, while opponents Liverpool are top of the table and chasing the title.
Eriksen has seen his own individual form drop off recently by his high standards, with no goals or assists in his last four league games.
The 27-year-old is one of the most dangerous attacking midfielders in the division on his day and it could be bad news for Liverpool if they allow him space in their half.
“At Anfield, Jurgen Klopp’s side will almost certainly have the majority of the ball as they have to take it to Spurs in such an important game. Pochettino will go there knowing his side are at their best on their travels when they can counter at pace,” Higginbotham wrote in the Sun.
“Recently, when teams have sat deep against them there has been little room in behind and their forward players have been too close together. But with Klopp’s team pushing on, space should be afforded for Christian Eriksen to get on the ball in between their defence and midfield.”

TBR’s View:
Spurs have proven this season they can beat anybody on their day and if they get near to their top level they can go to Anfield and collect three points.
It seemed unlikely a month ago, but Pochettino’s side now find themselves in the position where they need points to ensure they stay in the top four following a poor run of results.
There are going to be a lot of nerves around Liverpool due to their title pressure and Spurs need to try use that in their favour.
Eriksen is someone that can win the game by himself and surely Liverpool’s midfield will be compact to nullify his threat.
The Dane is due a return to form though and could end up having a big say in the title race at the weekend.
