Leeds United have been praised by Huddersfield Town manager Danny Cowley ahead of their Championship clash at Elland Road on Saturday, in conversation with Examiner Live.
The Whites have recovered from their downturn in form earlier this year by surging to four league wins in a row, all by clean sheets, the last of which was a 4-0 rout of Hull City.
Marcelo Bielsa’s charges currently sit second in the Championship table, five points clear of third-placed Fulham, and momentum is firmly with the Elland Road side as the season edges into the business end.

Huddersfield have also turned a corner in recent weeks, with wins over Bristol City and Charlton – the latter also a 4-0 triumph – edging the Terriers to 17th in the table, four points clear of 22nd-placed Middlesbrough.
“We are respectful of Leeds, they’ve had a really good season and are in a good position,” Cowley told Examiner Live at his pre-match press conference.
“They have real intensity and energy, playing fast and furious football with a real purpose. Their movement is outstanding, the best in the league.
“The counter runs and the double movement, plus the penetrative nature of their movement. Their ability to empty space and fill up space is really good.
“They ask an awful lot of questions defensively, so we have to match that physically and tactically – and we have to cause Leeds a problem when we have the ball.”
TBR View:
While Leeds and Huddersfield are at opposite ends of the table, both are in good form and will be looking to build on their respective 4-0 wins last time out.
In addition, the Terriers have a good record at Elland Road, having won on their last two trips there, and Cowley’s comments suggest they have done their homework on Bielsa’s side.
With Leeds desperate to keep themselves into the top two and Huddersfield equally desperate to pull clear of the bottom three, it’s bound to be a tense match.
