Liverpool came from behind to record a 2-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion in Saturday’s Premier League encounter at Anfield.

The Reds, fresh off a 3-2 away win against the same opposition in the Carabao Cup, found themselves trailing in the weekend league encounter.

In the 13th minute, Ferdi Kadioglu fired into the far corner of the Liverpool net from a tight angle after Kaoru Mitoma’s cross wasn’t properly cleared.

Arne Slot’s charges set about trying to get back in the game and, on 69 minutes, Cody Gakpo whipped in a cross that Darwin Nunez allowed to bounce into the Brighton net.

Then, just three minutes later, Mohamed Salah sent the Liverpool home crowd into a frenzy with a superb finish into the far top corner after cutting inside.

Former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge loved what he saw from Salah and took to X to sing his praises.

How the media rated Salah display

The Liverpool Echo gave Salah a 7 out of 10 for his efforts on the day.

“Dangerous whenever the ball was near him, which wasn’t often enough before break,” they wrote.

“Among those denied by Verbruggen second half before superb strike for second.”

Likewise, Liverpool World went with a 7 out of 10 for the Egypt international’s display.

“Put one decent cross into the box but not involved as much as he’d have liked in the first half,” they wrote.

“Couldn’t take his first chance of the second period but made no mistake when another came his way with a deadly finish.”

What next for Liverpool?

Liverpool are next in action on Tuesday 5 November as they host Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League.

The Reds’ next Premier League game is on Saturday 9 November, when they host Aston Villa in an 8pm kick-off.
