Daniel Sturridge has sent a supportive four-word message on Instagram to Liverpool and England midfielder Jordan Henderson in response to his emotional Instagram post.

Henderson, 31, has been part of an England group this summer that finished as runners-up at Euro 2020.

Gareth Southgate’s side gripped the nation en route to the final at Wembley Stadium, but were eventually beaten on penalties by champions Italy.

Liverpool captain Henderson has uploaded a heartfelt post on Instagram reflecting on England’s Euros.

“Proud of you mate”, ex-Liverpool and England forward Sturridge responded.

Will Jordan Henderson play for England at World Cup 2022?

For Henderson, he must be sad not to add a European Championship medal to an already brilliant CV.

The central midfielder made five appearances during this summer’s Euros, but didn’t start a single match.

The duo of Kalvin Phillips and Declan Rice have been thriving in the centre of the park.

So, will Henderson be in the England XI when next year’s World Cup rolls around?

If the Liverpool ace has a full season where he avoids injuries, there is every chance. But England’s midfield has been in safe hands this summer.

It’s easy to overlook the fact Henderson went into this summer without much football.

Liverpool supporters should see it as a benefit going into the next campaign that he’s got a point to prove to win back his England spot.
