Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are both interested in signing Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace this summer.
The 26-year-old has been one of the most exciting players in the Premier League for a few years now, and he is due a big move away from Selhurst Park.
TBR Football can confirm interest from both Arsenal and Tottenham in Eze, and there has been a lot of debate over which club he would choose if it came down to it.
Many Spurs fans fear he could pick Arsenal, but Darren Ambrose thinks he knows how to convince Eze to join Thomas Frank’s side instead.
Darren Ambrose tells Daniel Levy how to convince Eberechi Eze to join Tottenham over Arsenal
Arsenal have historically been a bigger club than Tottenham.
Spurs fans will hate to admit it, but the Gunners have won 48 trophies in their history, while Tottenham have lifted only 25 senior pieces of silverware.
However, both clubs will go into the 2025/26 season with the ability to offer Champions League football, and that is very important for the top players.
That is why Tottenham have a real chance of landing Eberechi Eze, but if the Englishman’s head turns towards Arsenal, Ambrose has a way to change his mind.
The Spurs supporting pundit feels that reminding Eze how he was once released by Arsenal could convince him to snub the Gunners now and choose Tottenham instead.
He said on talkSPORT: “We need to remind him, don’t we, that Arsenal released him — released him as a kid! Those were tough times for him!”
Eze was in tears for a week when Arsenal released him at the age of 13.
Focusing on Tottenham, Ambrose further said: “He (Levy) has to pay the money. We have spoken about this, you would’ve spoken about this many times, if we want to start competing with these top teams, we’ve got to pay top wages, not just top transfer (fees).”
Daniel Levy is to blame if Tottenham miss out on Eberechi Eze – here’s why
Tottenham have arguably never been in a better position in the last 20 years than they are now.
Spurs have just won the Europa League, have brought in a really good manager, and the morale around the club is at an all-time high.
To make things even better, TBR Football revealed that Eze is ‘very keen’ on a move to Spurs, despite interest from other clubs.
That gives Tottenham the perfect opportunity to seal the deal, but if Daniel Levy doesn’t pounce, the door will open for another club to lure him away.
With Arsenal also in the race, Spurs need to hurry up. If they continue to delay making a move and end up missing out on Eze, Levy cannot blame anyone but himself.
