Anfield played host as Liverpool legends took on a team of AC Milan legends last Saturday in what proved an entertaining affair.

Some of the Reds true greats were on show as Liverpool ran out 3-2 winners over their Italian counterparts.

Robbie Fowler, Djibril Cisse and Steven Gerrard ensured victory for the Reds, with Gerrard’s goal coming in the last minute.

Andrea Pirlo and Guiseppe Pancar restored parity for the Milanese outfit.

Daniel Agger was also in attendance and put in a typically solid performance at the heart of the back four.

The Danish defender played 232 times for the Reds in a nine-year stretch at Anfield.

Never considered to be a world class defender, Agger still adhered himself to the Liverpool supporters with his no-nonsense style of defending.

Following Saturday’s game, Agger took to Twitter to speak of his joy at donning the famous red jersey once again.

Liverpool fans loved seeing Agger back in action and it just proved how much the fans thought of him when he was at the club.

When the defender departed Anfield he had two seasons at Brondby before announcing his retirement from the game.
