Dani Ceballos raves about 'incredible' Arsenal star Mohamed Elneny
The Gunners picked up a very impressive victory over West Ham United at the Emirates yesterday. They went a goal down after an error from William Saliba, but second-half strikes from Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Eddie Nketiah sealed the win.
Elneny came on as a very late substitute.
Dani Ceballos raves about ‘incredible’ Arsenal star Mohamed Elneny
Elneny has almost always been a squad player for Arsenal. He only starts games when someone’s injured or needs a break, and neither of those was a factor yesterday.
Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka started in the middle of the park for the Gunners. They’ve both been sensational this season, and their brilliance is one of the biggest reasons why Arsenal are on top of the Premier League table.
Both Xhaka and Partey had a very good game last night as well. Mikel Arteta kept them together right up until the end of the game, but he then decided to take the Ghanaian off.
Partey was replaced by Elneny in stoppage time, and just 20 seconds after he came on, the referee blew the final whistle. The Egyptian didn’t even touch the ball during his time on the pitch.
A fan on Twitter posted a video of Elneny and captioned it: “Mohamed Elneny – Incredible Midfield Cameo | Next Pirlo? | 1080p.” The clip was just 29 seconds long.
Ceballos defended the Egyptian and wrote: “Incredible professional, incredible teammate. More players like that in football. A luxury player for the Arsenal.”
Elneny is really appreciated by Arteta and everyone at Arsenal.
The Egyptian always plays with a smile on his face, and even though he’s only been a squad player since he joined the Gunners, he has never once thrown a tantrum.
Partey and Xhaka will remain Arsenal’s first-choice central midfielders – that will not change. However, the Gunners need all the help they can possibly get to go all the way in the Premier League this season.
Elneny has put in some big performances for Arsenal under Mikel Arteta at places like Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge over the years. He’s more than capable of stepping up when required, which makes him a valuable member of the squad.
