Tottenham Hotspur saw the curtain come down on their Champions League campaign with a 3-0 defeat to Red Bull Leipzig on Tuesday night.
A double from Marcel Sabitzer and a goal by Emil Forsberg ensured a comfortable 4-0 victory for the Bundesliga outfit.
It offered more questions than answers for boss Jose Mourinho and despite an extensive injury list, it’s fair to say Tottenham’s form isn’t good enough.
At the end of the contest, Lucas Moura was inconsolable and he took to Instagram to speak of his gutting experience in the Red Bull Arena.
The £80,000-a-week ace has scored four goals and two assists this season in what has proved something of an underwhelming campaign for the Brazilian.
Following his social media post, he did receive some support from an international team-mate, however.
Dani Alves played with Moura at PSG and the right-back is now playing in his homeland for Sao Paulo.
He has 118 caps for the national team and is currently the captain of Tite’s team.
Alves is clearly a good friend of Moura’s and he was keen to comment on his Instagram, offering him the relative support to get over such a crushing defeat.
The versatile forward, Moura perhaps needs to go back to basics to revive his form.
There is an element that he’s been trying to hard of late and Mourinho should hand him more starts to improve his confidence.
