Liverpool icon Stan Collymore tipped the Reds to move for Myron Boadu back in March.
Now, the 20-year-old striker has just helped Netherlands Under-21s overcome a highly-fancied France U21 side at the U21 Euros.
Boadu has just completed an amazing season for AZ, registering 15 goals from 31 Eredivisie appearances.
He has also been capped once at senior level for the Oranje, scoring on his debut against Estonia in late 2019.
However, most of Boadu’s recent international action has come for the U21s, and he has quite an impressive tally.
From 11 appearances, he has scored 11 goals and registered four assists.
“He is so cool in front of goal and so dangerous from deep,” Netherlands Under-21 coach Erwin van de Looi said last year.
“He has that ability to just score, that is really a talent.”
Boadu’s latest two goals came on Monday night at the Bozsik Arena.
Highly-fancied France took the lead thanks to Ibrahima Konate’s 23rd-minute header.
However, the Dutch equalised early in the second half before going on to turn the game around late on.
Abdou Harroui’s strike deflected to Boadu, who was onside and finished from close range.
And in injury time, Justin Kluivert crossed for Boadu to guide the ball into the net and put the Oranje in the semi-finals.

TBR View:
Boadu is a quality striker whose record for club and country – at age level – is impressive.
However, his price tag was reportedly £18million last March and that is likely to have gone up by a lot.
That said, Liverpool are in need of refreshing their front line, so Boadu could be a decent shout nonetheless.
