Dane Scarlett shares what Harry Kane has given him behind the scenes at Tottenham, on Instagram

Dane Scarlett continues to make waves at Tottenham Hotspur and was named on the bench for a Premier League match for the fourth time on Sunday afternoon, as Spurs came from behind to beat Leicester City 4-2 – and the teenage striker has shared an image of a present from Harry Kane, with a touching message from the reportedly wantaway striker.

Despite Leicester taking a 1-0, and 2-1 lead through two Jamie Vardy penalties – Kane and co. rallied to confirm Tottenham will once again qualify for European football, albeit the newly-formed, third-tier, Europa Conference League. Kane scored and created another, while Davinson Sanchez and a Gareth Bale brace saw Spurs end the season in seventh.

While Spurs have endured a dismal season and Kane is now edging closer to a summer exit, Scarlett is a shining light. He has starred for both Under-18 and Under-23 sides – scoring 17 in 16 Under-18 PL appearances this term. He has also netted three goals in five Premier League 2 games with the 23’s, an impressive return for a player that is still just 17 years of age.

Jose Mourinho handed him his debut, which saw Scarlett become Tottenham’s youngest ever player. He has now clocked up three senior outings, and is likely to get plenty more chances next season with Spurs in the Conference League. Though he remained an unused substitute on Sunday, Scarlett did leave the game with a momento.

Celtic fans left short-changed by Sky Sports once again

Indeed, the England Under-17 international posted an image of Kane’s shirt on Instagram – in which the England skipper took his tally to 23 goals for the season, signed to Scarlett with the message: “To Dane, keep working hard mate. Best wishes.”
