Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones has suggested that he shouldn’t be ruled out with injury for too long on Instagram.
Injury issue
Jones was taken off during Liverpool’s friendly win over Osasuna last night, leading to concerns that he could be sidelined for some time.
With the Reds already seeing Andy Robertson pick up a problem yesterday, it was hardly the ideal end to their pre-season.
But Jones’ Instagram update was at least encouraging that his injury may not be severe.
Big role to play
With Liverpool now only days away from the start of the season, Jones’ involvement against Norwich City now looks doubtful.
However, the youngster could well see his first-team chances increased this term.
Jones made 33 appearances for Liverpool last season, when he established himself as a first-team player.
With Georginio Wijnaldum leaving and no new midfielders arriving, Jones has moved up the pecking order at Anfield by default over the summer.
And if when he does return to full fitness he could well be in Jurgen Klopp’s starting plans more often than not this season.
