Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will reportedly resist any temptation to send Curtis Jones out on loan next season as he sees him as a part of the first-team plans.
According to The Times, the German has been sufficiently impressed by Jones in the Liverpool first-team this season. The youngster has played eight times for Liverpool this season, scoring twice including a wonderful winner against Everton in the FA Cup.
The 19-year-old has made a further 19 appearances with Liverpool’s under-23s, many as captain, scoring 14 goals and providing six assists.

The report suggests that Klopp sees Jones as a potential alternative to both Adam Lallana and Xherdan Shaqiri in the Liverpool first-team, with both players set for summer exits.
So it seems Jones might indeed be fulfilling a prophecy from former Liverpool star Jamie Carragher. The Anfield legend told the Liverpool Echo back in February that Jones, along with fellow youngster Neco Williams, looked set to save Liverpool millions in the transfer market.
“When he plays in the younger team, it almost looks like he’s a first-team player dropping down to play with the younger players.
“The one criticism of this Liverpool team is sometimes a lack of creativity from central midfield, and I think he could provide that.
“Whether Liverpool go into the market to change that, or Minamino maybe changes that, but Curtis Jones and some of the other younger players will be putting things in the managers head about whether he needs to go into the transfer market.”
Indeed, Liverpool will be looking to reduce their transfer outage as much as any other club in the next window due to the current global health crisis and its financial ramifications.
Replacing playmakers like Lallana and Shaqiri would likely be an expensive pursuit for Jurgen Klopp. But with Jones seemingly set for a first-team role next-term, the under-23 captain will seemingly be saving Liverpool the millions Carragher suggested he would.
