Matheus Cunha and Bruno Fernandes have sent a message to a player linked to Manchester United this summer.

Cunha signed for Manchester United for a total of £62.5m, joining from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

He was then followed by Bryan Mbeumo, who joins the Red Devils from Brentford, looking to bolster the attack, which now looks quite frightening at Old Trafford.

But are the Red Devils done in the market? Certainly not. They’ve been linked to countless names this window already. But one man they won’t be getting, is Nelson Semedo.

Semedo is departing Wolves, with the Portuguese full-back confirming on social media that it was the end of his Molineux journey.

Bruno Fernandes was found in the comments. He wrote, ‘Example of a professional and a great human being.’

Cunha, of course, spent a few years on this journey with Semedo. So, taking to his Instagram story, the Brazilian sent him the following message (loosely translated into English).

It read: ‘Thank you for the ride, brother and the captain that you are! Always got your back, my friend.’

Semedo is leaving Wolves this summer as a free agent, with his next destination being Turkey, where he’ll link up with former Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho.

But could he have ended up at Old Trafford instead?

United were among the clubs linked with a potential move for Semedo, according to The Mirror.

The report also states that he has an extremely close relationship with United’s captain, Fernandes, dubbing him his “partner in crime”.

Semedo won’t be joining United, but the pair can remain just that on international duty.

Instead, United will explore the market for a striker, and then who knows – but surely Sir Jim Ratcliffe and co will be strapped for cash, and sales will be the next point of call at Old Trafford.
